"Squirrel" 7.5 x 7.4in

This squirrel painting was created as part of this year’s Wild October Art challenge in response to the prompt “Misunderstood.”

This piece was inspired by my ongoing battle with the neighborhood squirrels. I have not been so fond of squirrels since they decimated my garden this year, but I have come to appreciate the important role that they plan in the environment as nature’s little gardeners! When they stash nuts and seeds they usually bury them and many of those seeds end up growing into trees or other plants, allowing forests to expand.

This piece was created using watercolor paints and ink on hot press watercolor paper.
